Limited To 400 Pieces: Citizen’s Super Titanium Watch With A Deep Indigo Soul
Blending advanced titanium engineering with traditional Japanese craftsmanship, Citizen introduces the AQ4094-58L as part of its Eco-Drive 50th anniversary series.
Limited to just 400 pieces worldwide, the new release joins The Citizen collection and showcases the brand’s expertise in both material innovation and dial artistry.
Super Titanium Case with Duratect Platinum Treatment
The Citizen AQ4094-58L comes in a 40 mm case measuring 12.20 mm in thickness, crafted from Citizen’s proprietary Super Titanium. Developed to provide greater durability while remaining significantly lighter than stainless steel, the material offers enhanced comfort for daily wear and increased resistance to scratches and corrosion.

The case and bracelet receive a Duratect Platinum surface treatment, delivering a bright metallic finish while further improving hardness and wear resistance.

A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the case construction ensures a water resistance rating of 100 meters.
Traditional Japanese Indigo Washi Dial
The standout feature of the AQ4094-58L is undoubtedly its distinctive dial, which is made from Tosa washi paper, a traditional Japanese paper known for its unique texture and craftsmanship.
The dial is hand-dyed using a natural lye fermentation process to achieve a rich indigo hue known as “Kachi-iro.” Historically associated with victory and good fortune in Japan, the deep blue tone provides a striking backdrop for the gold-colored applied hour markers and matching date window frame.

The textured surface of the washi paper remains visible beneath the color treatment, adding depth and character while allowing light to reach the Eco-Drive movement beneath.
Luminous material applied to the hands and indexes ensures legibility in low-light conditions.
High-Accuracy Eco-Drive Caliber A060
Powering the watch is Citizen’s high-end Caliber A060 Eco-Drive movement. The light-powered quartz caliber converts light from natural or artificial sources into energy, eliminating the need for regular battery replacements.
The movement delivers an impressive annual accuracy of ±5 seconds, placing it among the most precise non-radio-controlled wristwatch movements available.

In addition to displaying the hours, minutes, seconds, and date, the caliber incorporates a perpetual calendar programmed to automatically adjust for varying month lengths and leap years. The movement also features a unique date-setting system that uses the seconds hand to indicate calendar information during adjustment.
When fully charged, the movement can operate for up to 18 months in power-save mode.
