The latest addition to the Conquest Heritage collection sees the Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve receive a fresh light blue opaline dial, introducing a more contemporary and vibrant appearance to one of the brand’s most distinctive heritage-inspired models.
Originally introduced in 2024 as a tribute to a historic 1959 reference, the model combines vintage inspiration with one of the most unusual power reserve displays currently found in modern watchmaking.
A Distinctive Central Power Reserve Display
The defining feature of the watch remains its central power reserve indication. Unlike traditional power reserve displays that rely on a hand moving across a fixed scale, Longines uses a more sophisticated mechanism involving rotating discs and a central indicator.
As the watch is wound or the stored energy decreases, both elements move in relation to each other to indicate the remaining autonomy of the movement. The result is a dynamic display that changes position throughout the watch’s running cycle and gives the dial a unique visual identity.
Sector Dial Layout with Vintage Inspiration
The new light blue opaline dial retains the same sector-style layout introduced with the original release. Applied hour markers and faceted hands ensure excellent legibility, while the central power reserve display occupies the spotlight without overwhelming the rest of the design.
A framed date aperture positioned at 12 o’clock adds practicality while preserving the symmetry of the dial layout.
Stainless Steel Case and Bracelet Options
The stainless steel case measures 38 mm in diameter, 12.30 mm in thickness and 45.60 mm from lug to lug, dimensions that should suit a wide variety of wrist sizes.
Alternating brushed and polished surfaces create visual contrast, while the polished bezel contributes to the watch’s elegant appearance.
Longines offers the new light blue version with two strap options: a stainless steel bracelet equipped with a micro-adjustment system for improved comfort, or a grey alligator leather strap for a more classic look.
The Longines Calibre L896.5
Turning the watch over reveals the exclusive Longines calibre L896.5 through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Manufactured by ETA specifically for Longines, the automatic movement operates at 25,200 vibrations per hour and provides a generous 72-hour power reserve. It also benefits from a silicon balance spring, offering improved resistance to magnetic fields and helping maintain chronometric performance over time.
