Lebois & Co. Revisits 1950s Chronograph Design With The New Linéaire
Lebois & Co. traces its origins back to 1934, when Raymond Dodane established the brand during a period when mechanical chronographs were central to professional and civilian timekeeping. Known for producing refined chronograph wristwatches, Lebois & Co. remained active through the mid-20th century before entering a long hiatus. The marque was reintroduced in 2016 under the direction of Tom van Wijlick, with a strategy centered on reinterpreting historic Lebois designs through modern manufacturing standards.

The Heritage Chronograph collection, first unveiled in 2023, builds upon this archival approach. Following earlier executions such as the black-and-gold variant and the Heritage Chronograph Atelier with Grand Feu enamel dial, the collection expands with the Heritage Chronograph Linéaire, a model rooted in mid-century chronograph aesthetics.

The Heritage Chronograph Linéaire features a 39mm stainless steel case crafted from 316L steel. The case measures 10.5mm in thickness, increasing to 13.9mm when accounting for the domed sapphire crystal. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces define the case architecture, while rectangular chronograph pushers sit on either side of a fluted crown signed with the Lebois & Co. emblem. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with an internal anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.

Dial design for the Linéaire is based on a 1950s Lebois chronograph discovered at Berlin retailer Shuck the Oyster. Two dial options are available: champagne-silver and deep blue. Both versions feature a vertically brushed surface that interacts with light depending on viewing angle. In terms of execution, the two dial variants are differentiated through their detailing. The champagne-silver version is fitted with blued hands that correspond with the blue leather strap, reinforcing a cohesive color palette. The blue dial variant, in contrast, features Arabic numerals and hands filled with beige luminescent material, a tone that is echoed in the matching leather strap.

The dial layout follows traditional chronograph conventions. A tachymeter scale calibrated to Base 1000 runs along the outer perimeter. The running seconds sub-dial is positioned at 9 o’clock, balanced by a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock. The minute counter is subdivided into three-minute segments, a functional detail historically associated with timing telephone calls.

Powering the watch is the calibre LC-450, a manually wound chronograph movement developed by La Joux-Perret. The movement uses a column-wheel architecture and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. It delivers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The hand-wound construction reflects traditional chronograph engineering, while the movement is visible through the caseback.
The Heritage Chronograph Linéaire is set at € 3,300. Early access registration opens on 15 December 2025, followed by order availability on 20 December 2025. Deliveries are scheduled for Spring 2026.
