Laventure Marine Type 3: A Compact Titanium Chronometer With Swiss Precision
Laventure’s latest release, the Marine Type 3, builds on the brand’s foundation of maritime-inspired design while steering into more original waters. This new model reinterprets vintage marine chronometer cues through a bold 1980s design lens, wrapped in a Grade 23 titanium case and equipped with modern engineering throughout.
Refined Dimensions, Purposeful Materials
With a case diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 11.20 mm including the tall plexiglass crystal, the Marine Type 3 delivers a compact wrist presence without sacrificing visual impact. The case is crafted entirely from Grade 23 titanium, offering superior biocompatibility and strength-to-weight ratio. A matte stonewashed finish adds a unique tactile element, softening the metal’s appearance while giving it a worn-in character that resists glare and fingerprints.

The watch measures 46.20 mm lug-to-lug, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes. Though its end-link design gives a nod to integrated aesthetics, it maintains versatility by shipping with both a rubber strap and a fabric strap, with multiple color options available.
Dual Dial Options, Maximum Visibility
Two distinct dials are offered: a full-lume white variant and a black galvanic dial. The white dial is a molded composite of Super-LumiNova and ceramic-based resin, giving it complete luminosity in low-light conditions. The black dial features a pad-printed application of Super-LumiNova for legibility and a more traditional appearance.

Each dial is paired with custom titanium hands: black-coated for the white dial, and white luminous-coated for the black dial—both ensuring strong contrast for optimal legibility.
Functionality Meets Resilience
A key feature of the Marine Type 3 is its anti-magnetic construction, achieved through a soft iron lower dial plate combined with an internal Faraday cage. Laventure confirms the watch meets the ISO 764 standard, resisting magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m without losing precision.

Inside, the Marine Type 3 is powered by a customized Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement, upgraded with decorative elements, 3N gold plating, and bespoke engraving. It is COSC-certified, delivering chronometer-level performance with a regulated accuracy of –4/+6 seconds per day.
100% Swiss-Made — A Rare Commitment
One of the Marine Type 3’s standout characteristics is its 100% Swiss Made designation. Laventure emphasizes that every component — from the case and dial to the movement finishing — is both designed and manufactured in Switzerland. This is an uncommon commitment among microbrands and sets a higher benchmark for traceability and quality assurance.

Availability and Price
The Marine Type 3 is offered in limited numbers — only 100 pieces per dial color per year — reinforcing its exclusivity. Each watch ships with both strap options and is priced at CHF 4,200.

Our Opinion
The robustness of its titanium case combined with a wide bezel makes its busy dial, composed of two scales of Arabic numerals for the hours and minutes, seem almost too small. But perhaps that’s part of the charm — a visual quirk that, in our eyes, works. Add to that the fully Swiss construction, a COSC-certified movement, and top-tier materials, and it’s tempting to say Laventure has created a winning microbrand formula.
Still, the CHF 4,200 price tag might be the single factor that challenges its appeal. It’s a steep ask — and we can’t help but wonder if there are 200 buyers annually who will see enough value in this premium execution to make the plunge. If uniqueness, heritage inspiration, and Swiss craftsmanship matter more than brand prestige, this might just be their watch.
