Kurono Tokyo Expands The Special Projects Series With The Inseki
Kurono Tokyo has unveiled the Inseki, marking the brand’s first release of 2026 and the debut of a meteorite dial within its collection. The watch joins the brand’s Special Projects series, a line known for restrained case dimensions and distinct dial executions developed under the direction of independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka.

Meteorite Dial Construction
At the center of the Inseki is a dial crafted from Muonionalusta meteorite, a material originating from a meteorite impact that occurred approximately one million years ago in what is now Sweden. The meteorite surface displays natural Widmanstätten patterns, giving each dial a unique appearance.

Surrounding the meteorite center is a white lacquered chapter ring, featuring Kurono Tokyo’s custom Calligra numerals. These numerals are applied in relief and finished to stand out clearly against the lacquered surface. The time is indicated by hand-bent, high-polish steel hands, a recurring design element across Kurono Tokyo’s catalog.

As meteorite varies significantly in pattern and contrast, Kurono Tokyo has stated that each meteorite section used for the Inseki was individually selected. A red seal on the dial serves as a visual marker of this selection process.
Case and Movement
The Inseki is housed in a 37 mm stainless steel case, consistent with other models in the Special Projects lineup. The total thickness measures 11.50 mm, including the sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

Powering the watch is the Miyota 90S5 automatic movement, offering a 40-hour power reserve. The watch is delivered on a calf leather strap, maintaining the brand’s preference for classic materials and proportions.

Kurono Tokyo has designated the Inseki as a limited production model, though the exact number of pieces has not been disclosed. The retail price is set at USD 1,850 excluding taxes. Sales will begin on January 15 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time, with deliveries scheduled to start in February 2026.
