Kollokium Projekt 02 FFF&F Edition: A Sculptural Vision Of Time

Kollokium, the Berlin-based microbrand founded in 2020, pushes the boundaries of watch design with the Projekt 02, following the distinctive Projekt 1. The Friends, Family, Fools & Flippers (FFF&F) edition demonstrates the brand’s fascination with textures, light, and layered construction, turning the watch into a miniature landscape on the wrist.

A Topographic Dial Alive with Light

The Projekt 02 dial is a masterclass in layering and luminosity. Built from 67 hand-stacked plates across nine levels, it forms peaks and valleys that create a topographic effect, sculpting the dial into a dynamic terrain. Each plate has a white lacquered base infused with bright green Super-LumiNova, which glows vividly in low light, contrasting with sandblasted metal edges that catch and reflect ambient light.

Twelve of the tallest peaks mark the hours, while repeating patterns in groups of three create an unexpected rhythm amid the organic shapes. The result is a dial that feels alive, shifting subtly as light and perspective change—almost as if the contours themselves are moving.

Sculpted Case Design

The diecast steel case allows Kollokium to achieve geometries impossible with traditional machining, giving the watch a raw, matte finish that emphasizes the sculptural form. Measuring 39.50 mm in diameter, it sits compactly on the wrist yet maintains a strong presence, with a thickness of 5.90 mm without the crystal and 12.40 mm including the bezel-less sapphire crystal that crowns the dial.

Despite its bold design, the watch offers 50 meters of water resistance, making it both striking and practical. Subtle inscriptions, including K,P–n°02 along the side, identify the model, while the solid caseback hides a cryptic message and an ironic warning for those brave enough to read it.

Movement

Powering the Projekt 02 is the La Joux-Perret G101 movement, offering a 68-hour power reserve. Kollokium leaves the movement unbranded, focusing attention on the watch’s sculptural and tactile elements rather than the mechanism.

Limited Edition

The FFF&F edition is strictly limited to 199 pieces, first available to existing Kollokium owners, with public release expected in 2026. Pricing starts at CHF 3,333, rising slightly to CHF 3,666 for future editions.

The Projekt 02 transforms the concept of a watch into a living sculpture, where layered topography, luminous peaks, and raw metal surfaces combine to create a design that is as mesmerizing as it is functional.
