King Seiko Vanac Peanuts 75th Anniversary: A Limited Tribute To Snoopy And Woodstock
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Peanuts, Seiko unveils a special edition of its King Seiko Vanac line, the King Seiko Vanac Peanuts 75th Anniversary SDKV011. Limited to only 150 pieces exclusively for the Japanese market, this model combines the brand’s signature precision and angular elegance with the timeless charm of Snoopy and Woodstock.
A Playful Yet Sophisticated Dial
The new Vanac stands out with a newspaper-textured dial, a nod to the origins of Charles M. Schulz’s iconic comic strip. At the center of the composition is Snoopy in his “Joe Cool” persona, wearing a golden crown alongside his loyal friend Woodstock. The black and white theme mirrors Snoopy’s classic palette, enhanced with gilt accents that symbolize the crown and Woodstock’s yellow hue.

This thoughtful design pays tribute to an April 1990 comic storyline where Snoopy crowns Woodstock as “King of the Jungle.” Subtle but rich in meaning, the watch captures the spirit of creativity and nostalgia that defines Peanuts.
Distinctive Case Design
The 41 mm stainless steel case takes the form of a stretched hexagon, echoing the bold geometry that characterized the original 1970s King Seiko Vanac models. Its faceted surfaces are finished with a mix of Zaratsu-style mirror polishing and brushed textures, giving the watch its distinct interplay of light and shadow.

At 14.30 mm thick, the watch has a reassuring presence on the wrist. The box-shaped sapphire crystal sits flush within the angular case, contributing to its architectural aesthetic. Practicality is not forgotten — with 100 meters of water resistance and a screw-down crown, the Vanac is as functional as it is expressive.
The integrated bracelet continues the geometric design language with alternating polished and brushed facets, secured with a butterfly clasp.
The 8L45 High-Performance Movement
Powering the Vanac is the Caliber 8L45, one of Seiko’s finest automatic movements outside the Grand Seiko family. Derived from the Grand Seiko Caliber 9S65, it offers a 72-hour power reserve and is finely tuned for -5 to +10 seconds per day accuracy.

The 8L45 features a bidirectional winding system with a reverser wheel, as well as Seiko’s proprietary regulation mechanism, a technical refinement that distinguishes it from the brand’s 6R and 5R series movements. Built at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio — the same facility where Grand Seiko mechanical watches are crafted — it embodies Seiko’s commitment to precision and durability.
A Thoughtful Presentation
The caseback is engraved with another Snoopy illustration, this time depicting him wearing the crown from the 1990 comic strip alongside the quote, “It just fits.” Each piece is individually numbered in a playful, comic-style font, reinforcing the celebratory theme.

The watch is delivered in a special Peanuts-branded presentation box, accompanied by a King Seiko watch roll, making it a collector’s delight for fans of both fine watchmaking and classic comics.
