Jaeger-LeCoultre Expands Duometre Collection With Fresh Cases And Innovative Calibers
If Jaeger-LeCoultre focused its news on the Reverso collection last year, this year it focused on the Duometre collection that debuted for the first time in 2007 and presents four new watches that come in a new case.
Duometre Chronograph Moon
The first of the novelties is the impressive Duometre Chronograph Moon, which adds chronograph complications to the hours and minutes functions with three registers of 1/6th-second, 60-minute and 12-hour, a day/night indicator and two power reserves indicators on the two twin barrels visible through the dial openings in the lower half.
On the outside, the two new Duometre Chronograph Moon wear a 42.50mm by 14.20mm case, one comes in a platinum case with a Cooper dial and the other in a rose-gold case with an opaline silver dial. Sapphire crystal on both sides, fluted crown at 3 o’clock flanked by a monopusher at 2 o’clock and 50m water resistance.
Inside and alongside the new case we find the new In-house Caliber 391 manual movement, which operates at a frequency of 3Hz and comes with a power reserve of 50 hours per barrel.
Both watches come attached to a leather alligator strap with a price of USD 86,000 for the platinum version and USD 70,000 for the rose gold one.
Duometre Quantieme Lunaire
The second novelty is the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire which for the first time comes in a stainless steel case and with an opaline blue dial, to the time functions it adds chronograph complications, date with moon phases and the same two power reserve indicators Duometre Chronograph Moon although here they come closed. On the outside, it embraces the collection’s new case but on the inside, it maintains the previous Caliber 381. The watch arrives with an alligator leather strap matching the tone of the dial for USD 44,300.
Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual
Finally, the imposing Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual now arrives in a rose gold case with an opaline silver dial. The main highlight is the Gyrotourbillon that rotates on three axes inside a titanium cage. The dial also displays a perpetual calendar, an off-centre dial, a large date window, and two power reserve indicators one for each barrel. Inside it comes equipped with the new In-house Caliber 388 manual movement. The watch is attached to a brown alligator leather strap, is limited to 20 pieces and is priced at USD 438,000.
