IWC Presents The New Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41
IWC is once again teaming up with Mercedes-AMG, with whom it has been a partner for some years now, to present a new duo of chronographs.
The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 arrives in titanium and Ceratanium featuring tachymeter ceramic bezels.
On the outside, the new timepieces follow exactly the same specification guide as the other Pilot’s Watch Chronographs in the collection, with a round-shaped case measuring 41.10 mm wide by 14.80 mm high in Grade 5 Titanium or Ceratanium, fixed black ceramic bezel, fluted crown with brand’s signature at 3 o’clock accompanied by two pump-pushers, smoked sapphire case back with the titanium version coming with the printed ‘AMG’ logo and 100m water resistance.
On the black dials, we can find some new features, namely the applied indexes and numerals that were previously printed, but which continue to be filled with Super-LumiNova, and the same three counters at 6-9-12 o’clock but which are now recessed. It should also be noted that the Ceratanium version comes with some details in the colour of ‘Petronas Green’, the brand image of the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team, such as the running second’s hand at 6 o’clock, the Arabic numerals on the double day-date window at 3 o’clock, the chronograph centre seconds tip and the outer second’s track.
Inside, there is nothing new continuing to operate the In-house Manufacture Caliber 69385 automatic movement with column wheel, capable of reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 46 hours of power reserve.
Any of the variants can be purchased with a bracelet matching the case material or alternatively with a black rubber strap, with prices ranging between €11,900 for the titanium version with a rubber strap and €22,400 for the Ceratanium variant with a bracelet in the same material.
