IWC Debuts Portugieser Collection With Fresh Colors And Modern Updates
And if last year we saw IWC monopolizing all its efforts for the relaunch of the Ingenier in the same proportion used a year earlier in its collection of pilot watches, this year its spotlight turned to our beloved Portugieser.
Four new shades were introduced in the collection, namely Horizon Blue, Dune, Obsidian and Silver Moon. The first two are only being available with 18k white gold and 18k rose gold cases respectively and the other two available in both 18k gold and stainless steel.
Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44
Among the noveties is the new Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44, which in addition to coming with new case dimensions of 44.40mm by 14.90mm, comes with a retouched dial.
It is now available in four variants including some of the new dial tones.
Inside, it now comes equipped with Caliber 52616 with the same 168h of power reserve as the previous one, visible through the sapphire rear glass.
Portugieser Automatic 42
The Portugieser Automatic 42 also arrives with some improvements to the bicompax dial which, along with the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, comes with a small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date window at 6.
Maintaining the same 42.40mm wide by 12.90mm high case driven by the Caliber 52011 with the same 7 days of power reserve as the Perpetual Calendar.
The watch is now available in six variants including the four new colors.
Portugieser Hand-Wound Tourbillon Day & Night
The other novelty that appears for now in a single variant is the Portugieser Hand-Wound Tourbillon Day & Night, which to the tourbillon at 6 o’clock adds for the first time an indicator with a day and night sphere positioned at 9 o’clock, a globe that comes half polished in rose gold and the other half in glossy black, which can also be seen on the case back.
The watch wears a 42.40mm by 10.80mm 18k gold case with an Obsidian dial that hides the Caliber 81925 underneath.
