IWC And George Russell Collaborate On New Pilot’s Watch Top Gun Editions
IWC Schaffhausen introduces two new limited-edition Pilot’s Watches created in collaboration with Formula One driver George Russell. The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell and Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell are part of the brand’s Top Gun family and combine IWC’s aviation-inspired design language with visual elements linked to Russell’s racing identity.

George Russell joined IWC as a brand ambassador in 2022, complementing the manufacture’s long-standing role as official engineering partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team since 2013. While IWC has previously released Mercedes-AMG-themed Pilot’s Watches, these new models are clearly positioned within the Top Gun line, characterised by matte finishes, military-inspired aesthetics, and the use of advanced technical materials.
Case and Construction
Both models feature cases made from black zirconium oxide ceramic, chosen for its high scratch resistance and lightweight properties. The watches are water-resistant to 100 metres and fitted with sapphire crystals secured against displacement caused by sudden drops in air pressure.

The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell measures 41.90 mm in diameter and 15.50 mm in thickness. It is equipped with Ceratanium pushers and crown—an IWC-developed material that combines the lightness of titanium with the hardness of ceramic. The closed titanium caseback and soft-iron inner case provide additional protection, including resistance to magnetic fields.
The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell comes in a 41 mm case with a thickness of 11.40 mm. It features a Ceratanium crown, a closed caseback, and a soft-iron inner case for magnetic protection, maintaining the robust tool-watch character associated with the Pilot’s Watch collection.
Dial and Design Details
Both watches feature matte black dials accented with blue numerals, indices, and inscriptions, reflecting the signature colour found on George Russell’s racing helmet. The hour and minute hands are filled with blue Super-LumiNova, ensuring strong legibility in low-light conditions.

A further personal reference appears in the form of the number 63, Russell’s racing number, which is subtly integrated into the design without compromising the watches’ functional layout.
Movements and Functions
The chronograph model is powered by the IWC manufacture calibre 69380, an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement with a 46-hour power reserve. It displays central chronograph seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour totalisers, small seconds, and a day-date display at 3 o’clock, alongside standard timekeeping functions.

The time-and-date version is driven by the IWC calibre 32112, an automatic movement featuring a pawl-winding system and an extended 120-hour (five-day) power reserve. Functions include hours, minutes, central seconds with hacking function, and a date display.
Strap, Availability, and Pricing
Both models are fitted with blue rubber straps secured by Ceratanium pin buckles and equipped with IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system, allowing tool-free strap replacement.

Each watch is produced as a limited edition of 1,063 pieces. Pricing is set at € 9,300 for the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell and € 13,000 for the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell.
