Introducing The Zenith Defy 21 Chroma II
After last year Zenith presented the limited edition of the Defy 21 Chroma in white ceramic with an openworked dial and rainbow-coloured elements, the watchmaker brings it back in version II in two limited editions and which now also includes a version in black ceramic.
The two new chronographs, which are very similar to the original 2022 model, now appear in two iterations, one with a white matte ceramic case that at first glance could seem to be a repeat of the first, but which is not and we’ll talk about it later, and another with a polished ceramic black case that is indeed a first.
Starting with the common points of the two interactions, on the outside both wear the same robust ceramic case measuring 44mm in diameter and 14.50mm thick, smooth bezel, sapphire glass on both sides, blackened crown and two rectangular pushers, and 100m of water resistance. On the openworked dial, an 1/100 second chapter ring and three totalizers match the case tone, power reserve indicator at noon and the three central silver hands.
The new Defy 21 Chroma in black ceramic follows almost the same rainbow colour scheme as last year’s white version that paint the Arabic numerals of the inner ring, the hour markers and even the bridges and other parts of the movement, from which the orange, green and lilac tones of the bridges stand out and yellow rubber ring of the crown. While in this year’s white ceramic version the same colour scheme changes in a rotation of 120 degrees to the left, now highlighting the light blue, blue and pink tones of the bridges and with the crown ring now in blue following the same pattern.
The heart of these two limited editions continues to be pumped by Caliber El Primero 9004 which operates at high frequency reaching 36,000 Vph and offering up to 50 hours of power reserve.
The two chronographs continue to be accompanied by a textured rubber strap in the same colour as the case with rainbow stitching and a titanium folding clasp.
In all, 500 pieces of each interaction will be available at a price of USD 15,600.
