Introducing the Zenith Chonomaster Revival Safari
Here we go for another quick Pitch Watch
Zenith has just launched another variant of its classic A384 Revival and guess what? This new variant is green, exactly another green watch is out there, after all, whoever this year doesn’t present at least one green watch in their collection is simply not cool and is completely out of the radar, as they say, the train only passes once.
But let’s leave digressions aside and let’s get down to business, the new Zenith Chronomaster Revival Safari, comes in the classic 37 mm Revival case but this one in titanium with a microblasted finish, which gives the case a darkened tone similar to lead, the same material extends to the signed crown at 3 o’clock and also to the pump-style pushers that flank the crown. On the dial lives an olive green that extends to the date window discreetly positioned at 4 ½ hours, which goes unnoticed thanks to its white inscription that blends with the same color minute scale. Contrasting the green of the dial, are an inner black ring with a tachymeter scale that extends in color to the three counters of the chronometer function, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hours counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds at 9 o’clock. The hands and lipstick-shaped hour indices are filled with SuperLuminova in shades of cream that enhance the watch’s vintage look. Finally, it should be noted that the usual 12 o’clock inscriptions of the brand name followed by “Chronograph”, “Automatic” and “El Primero” are executed in white as with the other scales and date on the dial, which gives it a perfect balance.
Inside there is nothing new to add, the El Primero 400 automatic movement operates with up to 50 hours of power reserve. The watch is offered with a rubber and Cordura effect strap in the same shade of olive green as the dial that comes with beige stitching in the same shade as the SuperLuminova of the accents on the dial and with a microblasted titanium pin buckle.
In our opinion, the final result is very well achieved, the perfect balance of the olive green and black tones of the dial with the microblasted titanium of the case, combined with the Faustina beige tone, makes it one of the most beautiful green watches available in the market.
The watch will be available from this month of June in the brand’s official boutiques for the price of CHF 8,900.
