Introducing the Yema Superman 500 GMT
A little over a week ago we announced the launch of the new Yema Navygraf FSM, the French brand is now promoting the arrival of the iconic Superman 500 GMT in three variants.
Until now, the Superman 500 collection, which had only two divers, now gains dimension with the inclusion of three new additions, with GMT and date complications.
On the outside, the highlight is the 24-hour rotating bicolour bezel, which works in partnership with the GMT central hand offering the possibility of providing two extra time zones in addition to local time. As mentioned above, the new Yema GMT has three variants with bezels in different shades, one of the variants comes with a black and white sapphire bezel, another with an aluminium “Pepsi” bezel and another with a “Batman” bezel also in aluminium. The bezel has yet another novelty, which is the fact that it is now filled in all of its markers with Super-LumiNova, while until now it only happened with the 12 o’clock marker. It should also be noted that the black-white variant comes in the white half filled with luminescent material, providing a true fluorescent light show.
Like the other two models already in the collection, the three new GMT are offered in a 39mm or 41mm stainless steel case, domed sapphire crystal, crown and crown guards at three o’clock, “Superman” bezel lock and an impressive 500m water resistance and 30m with the crown unscrewed.
In the black dial, the novelties are summarized by the inclusion of the date window at three o’clock and the extra central hand GMT with a red arrow-shaped tip. All other elements remain the same, namely printed hour markers and rhodium-plated hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, and the white inscriptions of the brand logo followed by “Superman” at 12 o’clock and “Automatique” followed by “500 meters” in red at 6 o’clock and that the now is accompanied by an extra line with the word “Worldtime”.
Inside, it comes equipped with the Yema3000 automatic movement that operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
Finally, the watches can be purchased with three different fastening options, a 5-link steel bracelet with a diver’s extension folding clasp, a rubber strap or a vintage leather strap.
The watches can be purchased in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers, with prices ranging from €1,259 to €1,429, with the first 200 having individual numbers engraved on the case-back.
