Introducing the Unimatic × Revolution & The Rake ‘Arctic Fox’
Revolution & The Rake have just released the first images and information about the new collaboration with Unimatic. This is a partnership that involves the launch of a trilogy of limited edition watches, with the first – the Modello Uno GMT “Arctic Fox” being available tomorrow.
The new Unimatic, which is uniformly white, is inspired by the white camouflage that covers the fur of many animals and soldiers’ clothing, which guarantees survival in extreme areas of the planet, where at certain times of the year the blankets of snow and of ice cover the plains, where the option between being seen or not being seen can be decisive to die or live.
Thus, the stealth Unimatic “Arctic Fox” comes with the usual steel case of 41.5mm in diameter by 11.6mm thick, with a Cerakote finish (a white ceramic-based surface) also used in firearms which are characterized by high resistance to corrosion and surface hardness. The same coating extends to the unidirectional aluminium bezel that comes with a 24-hour scale in order to be able to partner with the GMT hand. Everything else remains unchanged like the other U1 models, namely sapphire glass, screw-down crown and case back, drilled lugs and 300 meters of water resistance.
On the white dial, a discreet black minute scale, hour markers with a rim also in black that, like the hour and minute hands, are filled with Super-LumiNova, a central seconds hand with a black tip, a GMT centre hand with an arrow-shape tip edged in black and filled with luminescent material, a date window at 6 o’clock and finally the usual three-line inscriptions led by the brand name followed by “Made in Italy” and “300m = 1000FT”.
Equipped inside with the ETA Caliber 2893-2 automatic movement, which runs 28,800 VPh and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watch is offered in a special box that includes three straps – a white rubber strap, a white snow camouflage NATO strap and a grey pixilated camouflage strap.
A total of 150 units will be made available exclusively at the Revolution Watch store on December 28, 2022, for a price of €1,500.
Our Opinion
Once again Unimatic in collaboration this time with Revolution and The Rake does not disappoint and produces yet another very interesting piece that will certainly leave happy buyers very satisfied.
We especially liked the stealthy look of the watch, not only because of the small black nuances on the dial but especially because of the Cerakote treatment of the case that lets some black “edges” show through, as happens with weapons, breaking a possible monotony if the surface were completely white and thus reinforcing its furtive look.
We would say that we are excited to see the outcome of the rest of the trilogy.
