Introducing the TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Red Bull Racing Special Edition

TAG Heuer, which has been the official partner and timekeeper of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 Team since 2016 and has just extended this commitment until at least 2024, has just launched a new chronograph that reflects well the ties between the two brands and also marks the achievement of the World Driver’s Championship by Max Verstappen’s driver of the Red Bull Racing Team.
The new chronograph features the same case configuration as other models in the collection, it stands out for its unmistakable palette of colours associated with Red Bull Racing, with a sunburst blue dial that extends to the aluminium bezel and which stands out for having the inscription of “Speed” instead of the traditional “Tachymeter” of its scale.
Inside the dial, the usually applied trapezoid hour indices are now replaced by Arabic indices which together with the skeletonized hour hands are filled with white lume. In the centre of the dial is a small second counter at 3 o’clock, a 1/10th second counter at 6 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock, with both counters featuring red hands and others red and yellow accents.
Also on the dial, a red minute-track ring, a yellow chronograph seconds hand in the centre, date window at 4 o’clock, TAG Heuer logo in colour, instead of the collection’s usually black and white, at 12 o’clock and finally, the precious detail, of the starting line of Formula 1 track painted above the 5 and 7 numerals.
In the 43mm stainless steel case, the chronograph pusher button at 2 o’clock, comes with a red ring and the case back that is engraved in the centre with the Red Bull Racing logo over the starting flag pattern and with “RED BULL RACING FORMULA ONE TEAM SPECIAL EDITION” inscription around it.
Lastly, the chronograph comes with a quartz movement and can be purchased with two strap options, one with a stainless steel bracelet of three links and with a folding clasp, or with a textured blue rubber strap, matching with the dial, with a steel pin buckle.
