Introducing The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Editions

Tag Heuer and Porsche come together again in a partnership that began in 2021 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Carrera and Porsche 911 with two new Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Editions models.

Among the novelties are, a steel edition that comes with a silver dial, and an 18K 5N rose gold edition that features a beige dial.

The new chronographs wear the same 42mm diameter case, 14.90mm thickness and 48.60mm lug-to-lug distance, a Glassbox with a domed sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with two pump-pushers, open case back, and 100m of water resistance.

On the dial, an outer ring bezel designed on the curvature of the glass and scaled asymmetrically with 60 seconds, which explains the non-linear behaviour of the chronograph centre seconds hand that mimics the acceleration of the original 1963 Porsche 911, which accelerates in the first 10 seconds and goes gradually slowing down over the remaining 50 seconds until reaching the 60 seconds mark.

Three registers at 3-6-9 o’clock, a date window aperture at 6, applied hour markers matching the case material with small luminescent details and silver hands filled with Super-LumiNova. Also worth mentioning are three interesting details in red, a haunt between 12-4 o’clock representing the impressive mark from 0 to 100 km in 9.1 seconds achieved by the first Porsche 911, in the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock the area that starts at 6.8 until 12 warning drivers of the 6,800 revolutions per minute limit, and finally in the running seconds at 9 o’clock the 50 seconds area highlighted inspired by the Porsche dashboard from the 70s that represented the speed limit in urban areas.

At the heart of these two chronographs operates the new In-house Caliber TH20-08 automatic movement that reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 80 hours of power reserve.

The chronographs are attached to a black calfskin leather strap for the steel model with a folding clasp and in brown for the gold model with a pin buckle in gold, with prices varying between CFH 9,000 and CHF 23,000 for each version respectively.
