Introducing the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200
First introduced in 2004 under the Aquaracer insignia, its origins date back to 1978 when Jack Heuer introduced the Heuer Ref. 844 dedicated to outdoor activities, the Aquaracer which, since its origin, has maintained six immaculate features, including the unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, water-resistance up to 200m, luminescent markers, sapphire crystal and double safety buckle.
After presenting the Aquaracer Professional 300 last year, it brings us today the Aquaracer Professional 200, in two different sizes, 40mm and 30mm, which are divided into a total of eleven variants.
So the new Aquaracer Professional 200, while conserving many of the features of its older brother of 43mm namely the twelve-facet bezel and crown, textured dial formed by horizontal lines and three-link bracelet, however, it also features many new distinctive points, starting with offering a more compact case supported in two smaller sizes, now all-metal bezel with minute scale and no ceramic inserts and caseback with compass engraving instead of the scaphander diving helmet.
On the dial, the previous applied octagonal hour indices give way to trapezoidal indices, as do the new white-toned sword-shaped hands that replace the longer yellow-toned hour hands. Still, on an aesthetic level, the bracelet is highlighted by the central links with a polished rather than brushed finish, giving it a more formal and thus more versatile appearance, thinking about daily life in the city in contrast to the days of adventure.
As already mentioned, there are eleven variants available for the new Aquaracer Professional 200, which are divided between automatic and quartz movements, which affect the layout and functionality of the watches. The automatic watches are distinguished by their smoke-coloured gradient dial, as well as a date window, luminescence second hand and more detailed minute markings.
So the new 40mm Aquaracer is offered in two automatic variants, with a black or blue slightly smoky, sunray brushed dial, and also in two quartz variants, with a black or silver sunray brushed dial. As for the 30mm Aquaracer, there are two automatic variants, with a black or blue mother of pearl, slightly smoky dial and which are also distinguished by having 11 diamonds on the indexes, and five variants with a quartz movement, two with a white mother-of-pearl dial and 12 diamonds on the indices, one of them adding 46 diamonds on the bezel, and finally three quartz variants with a black, light blue or silver sunray brushed dial.
All models will be available from this month of January 2022 in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized agents.
