Introducing the SLGA007 and SLGA008 Grand Seikos and Its New Caliber 9RA2

Today Grand Seiko unveiled two new limited editions following the brand’s 140th Anniversary which also served to present its new Caliber 9RA2 Spring Drive that incorporates these two new timepieces.
And moving straight away to the new Caliber 9RA2 it derives from the still-new Caliber 9RA5 introduced in March 2020, and it continues to house two asymmetric barrels offering up to 120 hours of power reserve, the new movement now comprises a single piece bridge which brings greater solidity and durability to the movement as well as greater resistance to shocks and which now incorporates the power reserve indicator on the movement plate. In addition to being more robust, the new movement in dimensions has a smaller thickness of almost 0.8mm.
Introduced the new Caliber we now move to two new models and starting with SLGA008 it is similar to the SLGH007 introduced in March this year, which if you want to know more can read here, which comes with the same textured dial “Tree Rings” but now in brown, the same 40mm case as the Series 9, indexes and hands but now in 18k rose gold which is offered on a brown leather strap. As already mentioned, this is a limited edition of only 140 units available for a price of €50,000.
The second model is the SLGA007 which comes with a blue textured “Minamo Lake Suwa” dial inspired as the name implies in the blue waters of Lake Suwa, 40mm case, indexes, and handset in stainless steel, and a second’s hand and brand logo at 12 o’clock in gold. The watch is offered with a steel bracelet for a price of €9,100 and is limited to 2021 pieces.
