Introducing the Sinn Pilot’s Chronograph 156.1 And 156.1 E Limited Edition
Sinn presents the 156 pilot’s chronograph, the successor to the historic 155 model.
The new Sinn 156.1, in addition to the base model that will be part of the permanent collection, also adds the 156.1 E limited edition of 300 pieces.
Let’s start with the common points: the new watches are presented in a round stainless steel case measuring 43mm in diameter by 15.45mm thick with a bead-blasted finish. The rotating steel bezel features a black hard coating on a “Tegiment” technology basis with a 60-minute scale and pip-lume at noon, sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock flanked by two pushers, solid case back and 100m water resistance.
The matte black dial returns with the Bi-Compax layout, albeit in a different arrangement, with the previous 30-minute counter being replaced by a 12-hour register that now moves to 6 o’clock, freeing up the 3 o’clock position for a date window and the running seconds at 9 o’clock, which maintains its previous position. Another novelty is the 60-minute stopwatch hand that joins the chronometer centre seconds hand. Arabic hour markers and hands filled with luminescent material complete the dial.
The Sinn 156.1 comes with luminescent material in white tones and the 3 hands dedicated to the chronograph function are painted in red. The limited edition 156.1 E comes with a beige luminescent material and a date aperture in the shape of the Kolsman window of aviation altimeters.
Inside, we find the SZ01 automatic movement based on the ETA 7750 with 28 jewels, which operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
As usual, the brand offers a wide range of strap options, including leather, textile, rubber or steel bracelets, with prices starting at €3,950 for the standard version and €4,290 for the limited edition.
