Introducing the Renewed Anordain Model 2
Anordain, a Scottish watch company since 2015, has distinguished itself since its creation by creating enamel dials by hand and individually through its four master enamellers.
The process of creating Anordain enamel dials involves a very precise and time-consuming process that can take up to 12 hours and consists of applying the enamel on copper discs that go into the oven at 800 degrees Celsius and are then sanded, a process that is repeated several times until the desired end result is obtained. This means that the Anordain team can produce up to half a hundred dials per month.
The Model 2, a field watch created in 2019, featured a 36mm diameter stainless steel case with a brushed or polished finish, sapphire crystal, rounded lugs and crown guards. On the dial, in addition to its enamel dial, had a very simple layout, which translated into two skeletonized central hands with a fine tip, which is the brand’s signature, and printed Arabic hour marks. In 2021 the Model 2 reappears now in a 39.5mm case and with a new layout, now incorporating a second hand and a minute scale and featuring 3-6-9 numerals markers. The fourteen Model 2s up to that point were equipped with the Sellita SW-210-1 manual movement.
The new Model 2 now comes in two sizes and four variants. Outside the same stainless steel case in 36mm or 39.5mm by 11mm thickness with the same brushed or polished finish.
The dial is presented in four different colors, green (race green), tan yellow (linen), gray (haar grey) or white comes with a renewed layout. The dial now has a minute scale, the formerly printed Arabic hour markers and now three central hands, the former skeletonized hour and minute hands now joined by a second hand. Inside, the watches continue to be powered by the Sellita SW-210-1 movement.
The watches are offered on a leather strap with options in different colors and textures and will soon be available at prices of approximately £1,700 and £1,800 for the 36 and 39.5mm sizes respectively.
