Introducing The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 911 S/T Limited Edition
This year Porsche is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its legendary 911 model and to mark the occasion has produced a special series called the 911 S/T of just 1963 units that honours the year of its debut. Porsche Design, founded almost a decade later, also did not want to be left out of the festivities and has just launched two limited editions of its iconic Chronograph 1, the 911 S/T and the 911 S/T Heritage, which also number 1963 units.
On the outside, the commemorative chronograph is dressed in the traditional case measuring 40.50mm in diameter and 15.15mm thick that characterize the collection and which here is made of Titanium, the same material that also made the crown at 3 o’clock and the two pushers, sapphire glass on both sides and 100m of water resistance.
On the matte black dial, the usual layout of three totalizers at 6-9-12 o’clock consummated in a 12-hour counter, a running seconds and a 30-minute counter each accompanied by the letters H (hours), S (seconds) and M (minutes) respectively in the style of the inscriptions that we can find on the cars’ gear-shift, a double day-date window at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute chapter ring with green numerals and markings and that come with some details in white and in red, and printed hour markers and hands filled with Super-Luminova. Also noteworthy is the “stamp” drawn with the gear-shift at 1:30 which comes in silver on the 911 S/T version and in gold on the 911 S/T Heritage version.
The Flyback Chronograph comes to life through the automatic movement Caliber WERK 01.240, which is COSC certified, running at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 48 hours of power reserve. The open case back is engraved with individual numbering and is inspired by the Magnesium alloy wheels that are available with three finish options: brilliant silver, dark silver or black in the 911 S/T version and come with a rotor cap printed with “S /T” graphic. While in the Heritage version, there is no choice option coming in ceramic and brilliant silver with the Porsche crest on the rotor cap.
The chronographs are offered on a Titanium bracelet with a folding clasp and a perforated leather strap in black (911 S/T) or cognac (Heritage version).
Either version can be purchased for €11,950 and both are exclusive to owners of the new Porsche 911 S/T (992).
