Introducing The Panerai PAM1405 Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition
Panerai kicks off this year’s edition of Watches And Wonders with a handful of novelties set against the backdrop of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, which it sponsors in the America’s Cup.
The first of the new features is the Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa PAM1405, which comes in a limited edition of just 20 pieces with the competition finals in mind. Purchasers of the watch also benefit from an experience with the Luna Rossa team that promises to be unique and breathtaking according to the brand, in addition to guaranteeing a place behind the scenes throughout the race.
The robust 45mm watch comes in a Carbotech case, the brand’s carbon fibre composite whose material is also made mostly from the hull of the Luna Rossa vessel. The unidirectional bezel comes with a Titanium black DLC insert with a white lacquered relief scale, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown with the brand’s characteristic protector and 300m water resistance.
The skeletonized dial’s main point of interest is the tourbillon between 10 and 11 o’clock that completes a full rotation horizontally every 30 seconds, applied hour markers and semi-skeletonized hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, an extra central GMT hand which comes with an arrow-shaped tip and red outline to match the accents and also a day/night indicator. Next to the crown.
Inside runs the Caliber P.2015/T manual movement that displays a power reserve indicator and offers up to 4 days.
The watch arrives in July 2024 and is attached to a black rubber and grey textile strap with a red band with the name of the Luna Rossa team.
