Let’s go to a new Pitch Watch
Oris has just released the Oris Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition. But let’s start at the beginning, the O.A.R. (Okavango Air Rescue) was founded in 2011 by Swiss entrepreneur Christian Gross and German Dr. Misha S. Kruck in Botswana Okavango Delta, considered one of the seven wonders of Africa and inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 2014, covers an area over 20,000 km2. The O.A.R. is a private and independent organization that aims to provide medical assistance services to locals and tourists, for it has a team of doctors, pilots, nurses, paramedics, and administrative staff, who counts with two Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft and two Bell Jetranger 206 III helicopters and run a polyclinic. Since its foundation, it has rescued more than 1,500 critically ill patients by air and provided medical care to over 20,000 people through its polyclinic.
This new limited edition is part of the Big Crown ProPilot collection and is presented in a 41mm stainless-steel case with laminated fixed bezel in the shape of a turbine, screw-in crown with the brand’s signature at 3 o’clock, domed sapphire crystal with interior anti-reflective coat and screwed case-back engraved with a Pilatus PC-12 plane flying over the Okavango Delta with individually numbered. The dial features a green embossed pattern inspired by Okavango Delta vegetation, applied Arabic hour markers, and hands coated with Super-LumiNova and aperture date window at 3 o’clock. Inside operates the automatic movement Oris 751 (based on Sellita SW 220-1) which offers up to 38 hours of power reserve.
The new ProPilot comes with a green textile strap created exclusively for Oris by Erika’s Originals and an additional brown leather strap. The watch is limited to 2011 pieces and is offered with the leather travel pouch for a price of €2,150.
