Since 1932 Omega has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games and the next year in Beijing 2022 will add up to its 30th participation. To mark the occasion, Omega has just launched, through its Seamaster Diver 300M collection, a special edition, “Beijing 2022”.
Let’s move immediately to the watch, starting with the dial, in this edition its comes with a sun-brushed blue ceramic (ZrO2) dial, with laser-engraved waves, as happen with other models in the collection since 2018. Rhodium-plated indexes and hands filled with luminescence Super-LumiNova. On the dial at 2H, 4H, 8H, 10H and 12H the minute and hour markers each come in a different colour, alluding to the different colours of the five Olympic rings.
This new Seamaster Diver 300M “Beijing 2022” comes in a 42mm stainless steel case, with a bezel in grade 5 titanium, with a 60-minute diving scale with laser-ablated numerals reminiscent of the two releases of 2020, which feature the same type bezel the “Nekton Edition” and the “Chronograph Gold, Titanium and Tantalum”.
The case back of this new Seamaster Diver 300M doesn’t offer the possibility to see the internal movement like happen with many other models on the collection, instead of that it comes with a solid polished and brushed case back stamped with Olimpic Winter Games Beijing 2022 emblem, with the NAIAD Lock system that allows keeping all engravings in perfect alignment.
Inside, the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8800 certified by Metas, that features high accuracy, precision and magnetic resistance. The movement offers up to 55 hours of power reserve.
This special edition comes with the traditional 5-link steel bracelet or to be more exact the 9 rows links, polished and brushed finish, with extendable foldover rack-and-pusher with an extra diver extension.
Finally, the watch is offered in a white box alluding to the Olimpic Winter Games Beijing 2022, which will be available in stores from April at a price of € 6,230.
