Introducing the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Chronograph
Omega has just launched the Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Chronograph to celebrate its status as Official Timekeeper for the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada.
This launch is described by Omega as a precision part that operates in high-pressure environments. This model presents some very interesting novelties, starting with the sliding safety lock of the chronograph, preventing any of the buttons from being activated by mistake, a quick change system for bracelets and water grip pushers.
The watch comes in a 44mm steel case, with a blue ceramic bezel, which features a white enamel diving scale, crown at three o’clock with guards flanked by two rubberized pushers in red and blue that bring the chronograph function to life.
The dial accompanies the bezel in colour and composition, featuring a ceramic dial with the laser engraved wave pattern that Omega has already accustomed us to see in its “Diver 300M” collection. On the dial, we can find two subdials, at 3 o’clock a regatta countdown indicator ring in red anodized aluminium with an hour disc underneath it and a minute hand also in red, and a rhodium-plated small seconds hand at 9 o’clock whose shape tries to recreate the boat hull. The central lollipop second hand is also in red anodized aluminium and features the shape America’s Cup on the tail, a feature also shared by the Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America’s Cup Limited Edition launched in 2020.
Inside it operates the In-house movement Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 9900, which can withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, a silicon spring-balance and 60 hours of power reserve.
The watch comes with sapphire glass on the front and also on the case back which, in addition to allowing us to observe the ornate Caliber 9900 in operation, we can also observe engraved and filled with blue lacquer inscriptions “36th America’s Cup” and “Auckland 2021”.
The watch is offered with a stainless steel bracelet and an extra blue rubber strap, as we had the opportunity to announce before, both come with the new quick-change system that allows you to release the strap with a simple finger push and change it.
Finally, just mention that the watch comes in a celebratory box in the same shades as the watch, blue, red and white, which are not coincidentally the same colours as America’s Cup.
It should be available in Omega boutiques and brand retailers starting in March at a price of € 10,390.
