Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster ‘Aaron Rodgers’ Limited Edition
Zenith together with its ambassador Aaron Rodgers, the professional NFL player, has just presented a limited edition of the Chronomaster Sport.
The new Chronomaster pays homage to the impressive career of the four-time MVP (most value player) Quarterback, featuring a dial and bezel in green tones and small yellow details, which recall the colours of the previous Green Bay Packers and the current, the New York Jets, the player’s teams.
On the outside, the chronograph once again wears the traditional stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter and 13.80mm thick, which features a mostly brushed finish, a 1/10th of seconds bezel insert in green ceramic, anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both sides, fluted crown at three o’clock flanked by two pump-pushers that control the chronograph and 100m of water resistance.
On the green dial, the usual configuration of three counters at 3-6-9 o’clock in different grey shades translates into a 60-second counter at 3, a 60-minute counter at 6 and a running seconds at 9. The other big novelty on the dial is the inclusion of Arabic numerals, which is an absolute first for Chronomaster Sport, in a font similar to Aaron Rodgers’ jersey numbers, which, like the hour and minute hands, are filled with Super-LumiNova. Closing the dial is a date window at 4:30 with a background matching the tone of the dial and the chronograph centre seconds hand that describes a complete rotation every 10 seconds and that comes with a yellow tip that follows the same formula as the other two hands faithful to the chronograph function.
Inside runs the powerful high-speed El Primero 3600 automatic movement, which reaches 36,000 Vph clearly displayed on the dial and offers a robust 60 hours of power reserve.
The watch is attached to a traditional three-link steel bracelet with the central links having a polished finish that contrasts with the brushed side links.
The new Chronomaster, which will be available from November 2 in the brand’s official boutiques as well as in its online store, is limited to 250 units and priced at USD 12,800.
Our Opinion
Green dials are definitely back in fashion and today they are no longer a simple fad, being one of the favourite and most sought-after shades among enthusiasts and collectors.
Regarding the new chronograph, in addition to paying a fair tribute to the player’s incredible achievements, which is indisputable, it brings some new features, namely the Arabic numerals which, regardless of whether we are fans of the theory of less being more, here the more fits very well and we really like it.
Finally, saying that the green of the dial and bezel combined with the yellow of the tips of the chronograph hands seems to be more faithful to the colours of the ‘Packers’ but it is also undeniable that the dial also has a lot of the green and white of the New York Jets, so we think that in the end, it works very well and that no one will be upset or disappointed.
