Introducing The New Rolex Daytona 100th Anniversary 24 Hours of Le Mans

Unexpected as always, Rolex surprises again with the launch of a new Daytona that pays homage to the 100 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The new Cosmograph Daytona comes in a 40mm 18K white gold case with the usual configuration of a screw-down crown with crown guards, flanked by two screwed pushers, a black ceramic tachymeter bezel with a red inlay at the number “100” in a clear reference to the 100th anniversary of the historic race and a sapphire case back, for the second time in a Rolex Daytona, after the commemorative edition of the 60th anniversary in platinum presented earlier this year at Watches And Wonders.

The Panda reverse dial comes with the traditional layout of three totalizers at 3-6-9 o’clock, with one novelty, in the space of the usual 12-hour counter there is now a 24-hour counter plus a precious detail that pays homage to the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race and also the “return” of the inscription “Daytona” in red at 6 o’clock at the top of the running seconds.

As expected, the new Daytona also receives a new Caliber, which supports the new 24-hour totalizer and which for now makes it its exclusive movement, the Caliber 4132 which is a Superlative Chronometer and which offers up to 72 hours of power reserve, which as already mentioned can be observed through the open case back, with the spotlights on the skeletonized oscillating mass in yellow gold.

The new Daytona is set on the traditional Oyster bracelet in white gold matching the case and becomes part of the regular Rolex collection priced at USD 51,400.
