Introducing the New Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Petrol and Polar
When in 2007 Nomos introduced the Club collection, an affordable and minimalist watch clearly aimed at a younger audience, far they could have predicted the success of that model which, together with the Tangente, probably represents the bulk of the brand’s sales today.
Since its inception, the Club collection has several models currently divided into three sub-lines: Club, Club Campus and Club Sport. Within this last grouping originating in 2018, two new creations of the brand are inserted in the new size of 37mm, the green petrol and the blue polar.
Like their older brothers in the Club Sport line, the two latest members come with an automatic movement, which is referred to by the silhouette of the brand “neomatik”.
The two new inserts as we have already mentioned come in a reduced stainless steel case of 37mm that makes them wrist-friendly for an undifferentiated male and female audience, smooth bezel, fluted crown at 3 o’clock, sapphire crystal on the front and on the case back and 200 meters of water resistance, 100m less than the widest ones in the line.
The petrol green or polar blue dials come with a sunburst effect and with the same layout but now without a date window, featuring hour markers and Arabic numerals filled with luminescent material, now more durable, that also extends to the hour and minute hands, and small seconds at 6 o’clock.
A “new” movement also inhabits the inside, the 2015 in-house DUW 3001 of just 3.2mm in thickness that offers up to exactly the same 42 hours of power reserve as the Caliber DUW 6101 of the Club Sport 42mm.
The watches are offered with a three-link stainless steel bracelet with finishes ranging from polished to brushed and which come with a deployment clasp.
The new Nomos Club Sport neomatik are available today in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €2,480.
Our Opinion
Those who know us know how passionate we are about small cases and so, as you can imagine, we are quite pleased with these two new entries in the Nomos universe.
The new tones introduced in the dials are very beautiful and that is why we believe that they will be well received by the general audience, female and male, young and mature, at a time when brands seem to bet more on brightly coloured dials, the opting for a modern classic is always healthy.
In a sentence, we liked it.
