Introducing the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”
Here we go to another Pitch Watch.
IWC has just launched its new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”, to celebrate 17 years of partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the two brands have been together since 2004.
The announcement was made through a webcast, where the protagonists were the CEOs of each of the brands, Christoph Grainger-Herr from IWC and Philipp Schiemer from Mercedes-AMG, where they had the opportunity to reinforce the sharing of values and passion for the design and performance that unite the two brands.
The new chronograph presents itself with several novelties, starting with the 43 mm titanium case, it is the first pilot watch that incorporates a Grade 5 titanium case, which is very light and scratch-resistant and whose color produces an effect matte gray is inspired by AMG‘s signature Selenite Grey Magno paint finish.
The dial is another novelty since it is made of woven carbon fiber, which is characterized by its lightness and rigidity, a material that is increasingly used in aviation and motorsports, namely in Formula 1, benefiting from its lightness and superior resistance compared to other materials such as steel. Contrasting with the black carbon dial are the three silver sub-dials inspired by motorsport instruments.
The watch is powered with the new In-house column-wheel Caliber 69385, which in addition to the time function, adds day, date, and chronograph functions and offers up to 46 hours of power reserve. The movement is possible to be observed through the sapphire glass mounted on the case back stamped with the Mercedes-AMG logo. It’s offered with a black calfskin strap whose texture resembles the pattern of the dial, stitching in white and with a stainless-steel folding clasp.
It is available from today for pre-order on the official IWC website, as well as in official brand stores and authorized retailers, for the price of € 10,100.
