It was during the last Miami Grand Prix that we saw Lewis Hamilton parade with a new white IWC on his wrist and that hinted that something new was about to arrive, which was confirmed with the IWC announcing the arrival of the newest member of the collection Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN, the new “Lake Tahoe”.
The new Perpetual Calendar “Lake Tahoe” appears in a white ceramic case in the same material as the chronograph version, and joins the three other editions already existing in the collection, the “Rodeo Drive”, the “Mojave Desert” and the all-black Ceratanium.
Wearing a robust case of 46.5 mm in diameter by 15.6 mm thick, sapphire glass on the front and case back, screw-down crown with onion shape and 60m of water resistance.
Contrasting the light tone of the case is a matte black dial that houses a moon phase indicator of the Northern and Southern Hemisphere at 12 o’clock, a date indicator with a power reserve at 3, a month indicator at 6, a year window at 7 and finally a running seconds with a month indicator at 9. The Arabic numerals and leaf hands filled with Super-LumiNova complete the dial.
Inside, it is loaded with the powerful In-house Caliber 52615 of 375-component that holds a Perpetual Calendar mechanism and offers up to 7 days of power reserve.
The watch comes attached to a textured white rubber strap, which is expected to hit the market in early July 2023 for USD 59,700. Although it is not a limited edition, it should be limited to an annual production that, considering previous editions, should not exceed 150 units.
