Introducing The New Grand Seiko ‘Snowflake’ SBGX355
Grand Seiko has just announced the return of the Quartz movement through the new SBGX355 watch whose nickname ‘Snowflake Quartz’ leaves no room for doubt.
That’s right, the new one, or rather the new ones but we’ll get there, comes equipped with a high-precision Quartz 9F62 movement whose 10 seconds of accuracy per year is undeniable.
But it is the white-toned dial that is once again the main protagonist, featuring a snowflake pattern, very similar to the one found on the blockbuster Spring-Drive SBGA211 from 2005, which comes with applied polished hour markers and Dauphine hands, a framed date window at 3 o’clock, a blue center seconds hand and a minute track painted in black.
On the outside, the watch wears a titanium case measuring 37mm in diameter, 10.60mm thick and 44.60mm lug-to-lug distance that comes with a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bevels. Smooth bezel, drilled lugs, fluted crown with the brand’s signature, screwed solid case back and 100m of water resistance.
The watch comes attached to a titanium bracelet matching the case with 3 wide brushed links and two narrow polished ones with a folding clasp, which can now be purchased for a price of €4,200.
A ‘feminine’ 28.90mm version also arrives with the reference STGF385, but which comes in a stainless steel case with a diamond-set bezel, presenting a dial identical to the new SBGX355 but in a reduced size, which arrives with a price of €6,000.
