Introducing The New Grand Seiko ‘Cherry Blossoms’ SBGH341 And SBGH343
Just like the mother house, Grand Seiko continues at full steam and after the last ‘Snowflake’ launches, two more 62GS ‘Cherry Blossoms’ watches are now arriving and in a new size.
The two new additions that are nothing behind the latest ‘Snowflakes’ in terms of dial beauty, are inspired by the Cherry Blossoms in Japan featuring pink and green dials that now come housed in the new moderately sized 38mm case driven by Hi-beat movement.
The new watches, like the previous 40mm version, once again embrace a 62GS type titanium case, which in addition to being 38mm wide is 12.90mm tall, featuring the traditional wide bevels (or brancards if you perfer) that come with a Zaratsu polished finish and brushed on the sides. Boxed sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, screwed sapphire case back and 100m waterproof.
The SBGH341 ‘Sakura Kakushi’ comes with a pink dial that evokes the cherry blossoms hidden by the snows at the end of winter, while the SBGH343 ‘Sakura-Wakaba’ is inspired by the cherry blossoms and new leaves that appear all at once at the beginning of April.
The beautiful textured dials are adorned with razor-sharp hour markers and Dauphine hands, a framed date window next to the crown that comes with a brushed silver background that matches the tones of the dials, the brand’s logo applied at 12 o’clock followed by its lettering and finally two lines of inscription at 6 o’clock referring to its high-frequency automatic movement.
It is through the open rear case that we can observe the Caliber 9S85 which reaches 36,000 Vph which ensures an accuracy of +5 / -3 seconds per day, resisting magnetic fields of up to 4,800 A/m and offering a power reserve of 55 hours.
Both watches come attached to a mainly brushed titanium bracelet with a folding clasp and will be available from March in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €7,900.
