Introducing The New Girard-Perregaux Laureato Ti49 In Titanium

Next weekend the Australian F1 Grand Prix takes place at the Melbourne track and coincidence or not, it wouldn’t be surprising to see on the wrists of members of the Aston Martin team with whom Girard-Perregaux (GP) has a partnership the new Laureato Ti49 that just came out.

Despite what has already been said, the new GP chronograph Laureato Ti49, which is the first to be built in Grade 5 titanium, a material often used in motorsport due to its characteristics of strength, lightness, anti-magnetism, corrosion resistance, will not be associated to the F1 Aston Martin team, however, it is still a great launch for the Swiss watchmaker.

Thus, the latest member of the Laureato line comes in a titanium case measuring 42mm in diameter and 12mm thick, with a mainly brushed finish and polished elements such as the plate on which the bezel sits, bevels, crown and pushers, intermediate links of the integrated bracelet and rear case outer ring. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with guards, flanked by two chronograph pushers, solid case back, and 100m water resistance.

The textured anthracite grey dial comes with a “Clous de Paris” background, featuring three registers with an azurage pattern substantiated by a running seconds at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 and a 30-minute register at 9. Applied hour markers and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a date window at 4:30 with a black background and a chronograph centre seconds hand.

At its heart beats the In-house Caliber GP03300-0141, decorated with “Côtes de Genève on the bridges, operating 28,800 Vph and offering up to 46 hours of power reserve.

The new timepiece is attached to an integrated titanium bracelet, with a folding clasp that comes with the brand’s logo and can now be found in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €20,500.
