Introducing The New Doxa SUB 300β Sharkhunter
The new Doxa SUB 300β Sharkhunter is probably the brand’s most cosmopolitan watch as it is almost an antithesis to the design of the rest of the collection.
And if we got used to recognizing Doxa by its diving watches, the new generation could bring more news, not in terms of capabilities but more aesthetically, and the new model proves just that, with a blackout code that extends from the case to the band and that passes through the dial only attenuated by some golden details.
The new Doxa thus wears the cushion-shape case of the SUB300, which is now in black ceramic, with the same 42.50mm diameter but is narrower, 11.95mm thick compared to the 13.40mm of the SUB300 collection, 18k yellow gold crown and bezel and an insert black with a matching tone scale. Sapphire glass on the front, solid Titanium case on the back and 300m water resistance.
The same formula is repeated on the dial, which features a grainy black background with inscriptions and a date window at 3 o’clock also all in black, which makes reading it a real challenge, bold and gold applied hour indexes and black hands all filled with beige Super-LumiNova.
Inside, there is no longer room for ETA movements dictated by the “embargo” of the Swatch Group, starting now to operate its “clone” movement, the Sellita SW200, which is COSC certified, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve which has long ceased to impress.
The watch is attached to a rubber FKM strap with the same black code, which will be available from October 2023 at a price of €7,250.
