Introducing The New Bell & Ross BR03 Gyrocompass
A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to see the new Bell & Ross BR03 which, in addition to being smaller, had some aesthetic improvements that allowed it to fit better on the wrist if you want to know more about it, you can read it here. The French watchmaker brand now reveals a limited edition within the same collection, called BR03 Gyrocompass.
Connected to the world of aviation, whose BR05 and BR03 lines design does not allow lying. Since 2010, many models have been launched by the brand in the Flight Instruments collection, which is now completed with the new Gyrocompass, first introduced in 2013.
The latest BR 03 is presented with the traditional square case with a round dial here in black ceramic with a sandblasted finish, 41mm wide by 10.60mm thick, sapphire glass on the front, solid case back and water resistance up to 100m.
But it is the dial that is the main star of the watch, whose skeletal silhouette of a jetfighter with yellow SLN outlines is unlikely to go unnoticed by anyone. It is the nose of the fighter that gives us the time reading, replacing the hour hand, in the centre we can also find a pointer with an arrow-shaped tip outlined in white that gives us the minutes and a needle seconds pointer with an equal length to the diameter of the dial and which can only be distinguished thanks to its white tip.
On the black dial a crosshair layout printed with turquoise cardinal points, a 60-minute chapter ring scaled in white and with the four navigation markers painted in turquoise and the usual small round date window at 4:30.
Inside, the BR-CAL.302 automatic movement gives life to the watch, based on the latest version of the Sellita SW300 that operates at 28,800 Vph and now offers up to 54 hours of power reserve.
The watch, in addition to being attached to a black rubber strap, also comes with an extra fabric strap.
It is a limited edition of 999 units that are now on sale for €4,500.
