Introducing The Longines Mini Dolce Vita
New York City was the setting chosen for Longines to launch the new Mini Dolce Vita, which was sponsored by actress Jennifer Lawrence, ambassador for the Swiss watch brand.
The roots of this square watch model date back to the 1920s, when the brand began producing the first watches with this shape, but it was in the late 1990s that the watch would be reformulated and named Dolce Vita.
Today the brand once again brings together efforts around its square watch with Art Deco design to present the new Mini Dolce Vita, which in addition to the new eleven variants, also debuts a new and elegant brick-style bracelet.
Starting with the common points, all new references share the same steel case with dimensions of 21.50 mm wide, 29 mm lug-to-lug distance and 6.75 mm thick, which comes with a polished finish. Sapphire crystal on the front, fluted crown, solid case back and 30m water resistance. Six of which also feature diamond-set “bancards”.
Among the eleven variants, there are three that feature a circular white-ivory dial, which is painted with Roman numerals at the 3-9-12 o’clock positions, while the six o’clock position is occupied by a small second, and finally two faceted central hands in shades of petroleum blue. The remaining eight references feature a square design, including “Cartier” style Roman hour markers, small seconds at 6 o’clock and two central faceted hands. It should also be noted that four of these references are presented with a silver sunburst dial, blue indexes and strap options between leather strap or steel bracelet, while the other four references come with coloured dials in green, pink, blue or beige, with gilt accents, inner square guilloché and matching leather strap.
And if on the outside they all share the same case dimensions, on the inside the formula is repeated, operating the L178 ETA-based quartz movement.
The new Mini Dolce Vita arrives with prices ranging between €1,800 and €2,100 for the versions without precious stones with a leather strap or steel bracelet, and €4,100 and €4,400 for the versions with a diamond set.
