Introducing The Kurono Special Projects Réserve De Marche Sensu NOS
Kurono, the independent Japanese watch brand, has unveiled its latest creation, the Special Projects Réserve de Marche Sensu NOS. This watch, classically inspired with a blend of modern elements, features a guilloché dial and several intriguing complications. Its movement is based on new-old-stock (NOS), adding a unique element to the overall design.
The watch is housed in a fully polished stainless steel case, measuring 38mm in width, 11.20mm in height, and 45.60mm in length, creating a balanced presence on the wrist. A smooth bezel, box-shaped sapphire crystal, and fluted crown at 3 o’clock with a round cap enhance its sleek look, while the solid case back and 50-meter water resistance offers durability.
One of the standout features of the Kurono Special Projects Réserve de Marche Sensu NOS is its convex guilloché dial, adorned with a stamped pyramid pattern available in cream or blue tones. The dial is further enhanced by a recessed 24-hour display at 6 o’clock and a power reserve indicator designed in the form of a Japanese folding fan, known as sensu, positioned at 9 o’clock. A dot minute track along the edges adds another layer of detail. Each variant of this model showcases unique design elements, with the cream version featuring blue heat-treated hands, Arabic numerals, and an embossed logo at noon. The blue variant distinguishes itself with silver-plated hands, a chapter ring with Kanji numerals, and the logo in Japanese characters placed next to the crown.
Powering this exquisite timepiece is the 9134PWT caliber, a modified version of Citizen’s old 9134 automatic movement, which was recovered and re-engineered by Kurono. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 Vph and offers a power reserve of up to 40 hours, delivering reliable performance. The watch comes paired with a black textured calfskin leather strap, accentuated with white stitching and secured by a steel pin buckle for a classic yet refined look.
Kurono’s Special Projects Réserve de Marche Sensu NOS will be available for pre-order from October 10th, 10 pm Japanese time. Limited in production and available for one purchase per person, this watch is priced at USD 2,150 plus tax. With its combination of traditional craftsmanship and unique Japanese design elements, this model is set to become a sought-after piece among collectors and enthusiasts.
