Introducing The Hanhart Preventor9 S Limited Edition
Hanhart returns the pilot’s watch from the 1950s with time-only functions and small seconds based on the Caliber 42.
The dial of the historical pilot’s watch that came with a chronograph Caliber can be easily explained by its layout, as the omission of the chronograph complication drops the Chrono centre seconds hand as well as its minute counter at 3 o’clock, remaining the two hands and a small seconds at 9 o’clock, whose inspiration now gives rise to the new Hanhart Preventor9 S.
The new watch, which arrives in a 40mm round stainless steel case, comes with a black PVD coating which, together with the matching dial, gives it a stealthy look with the “S” in its name referring to this meaning “Schwartz” in German which translates to black in English. Featuring a smooth bezel, convex sapphire glass, a fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, screwed solid case back and 100m water resistance.
On the black dial, we find two centre Cathedral-style hands which, like the Arabic numerals, are filled with greenish luminescent material, a small seconds at 9 o’clock and a railway minute track next to the edges which also surrounds the running seconds register.
Inside runs the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement modified by Dubois Depraz, which comes with hacking seconds operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve.
The watch, which comes attached to a black calfskin leather strap with white stitching, is a limited edition of just 100 pieces and is priced at €1,290.
