Moser & Cie has just expanded its Endeavour collection with a new centre seconds model, debuting now a green enamel dial, which intrudes among the many blue dials that dominate the Swiss brand’s collection.
The design of the beautiful textured dial involves a long and elaborate process, starting with a gold base, as if hammered, to which three different colour pigments are added, each one in turn, so that the colours oxidize, creating an ombré (gradient) effect. Thus, to obtain the “Grand Feu” enamel dial, it is necessary to go to the fire 12 times in order to produce the fumé effect, whose result is that each dial is unique.
The ingenious green enamel dial can be seen through the sapphire glass that is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case with a polished finish and which is distinguished from the others by its slender lines.
Contrary to what is usual in many other watches of the brand, albeit in an almost hidden way, the Endeavour Center Seconds Concept Lime Green chooses not to include the brand’s logo and indices on the dial, opting for the usual simplistic scheme of three hands, with a leaf hour and minute hand and a purple central seconds hand.
Through the open case back it is possible to observe the In-house self-winding movement Caliber HMC 200, which operates at 21,600 Vph and offers up to 72 hours of power reserve. The movement is carefully decorated, with Moser stripes finish, blue balance bridge and oscillating weight engraved with the H. Moser hallmark.
Lastly, the watch is offered with a gray kudu leather strap.
The watch, not being a limited edition, will be on sale in the brand’s official boutiques for a price of CHF 25,000.
After the year 2020 dominated by blue dials and 2021 marked by green dials, the beginning of 2022 has indicated that we are facing the return of the blue wave, perhaps inspired by the much-hyped Tiffany blue dial reborn in the last appearance of the no less popular PP Nautilus, H. Moser seems to want to counter this trend, and what better way than with a beautiful green enamel dial.
Undoubtedly, the simplicity of the latest H. Moser is more than compensated for by its green enamel dial and that’s why we understand how once again H. Moser executes these timepieces with mastery and elegance.
