Grand Seiko celebrates 55 years of its iconic 44GS design with a limited edition of 1,200 pieces that comes with manual movement and a slim case.

The new 44GS, which comes with a textured pink dial, is inspired by the beauty of springs in northern Japan when snow covers the cherry blossom, a phenomenon known as the Sakura-Kakashi season.

Thus, the watch is presented in a stainless steel case with classic dimensions of 36.5mm in diameter by 11.6mm in thickness, benefiting from its slim manual movement, smooth bezel and the traditional Zaratsu polished. The steel case back comes with the traditional medallion in the centre with the lion of the brand and with the limited edition engraving and its individual numbering.

On the pretty dial in pink tones with a slight silver hue, we can find applied rhodium-plated hour markers and faceted sword hands, in addition to the applied logo of the brand in gold over the inscription of Grand Seiko in black.

Inside the new SBGW289 is powered by the manual-winding movement Caliber 9S64 with 8 beats per second, which offers a generous 72 hours of power reserve.

The watch comes on a stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp and will be available from June 2022 at a price of €5,400 in the brand’s official boutiques and selected retailers worldwide.
