Introducing The Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Limited Edition
Glashütte Original again pays homage to the city of Dresden through its new PanoMaticInverse watch in a limited platinum edition of just 25 pieces.
This new addition follows the line started in 2021 by the German watchmaker with the limited edition, also in platinum, of the PanoInverse, which came with a Guilloché dial replicating the dome of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and more recently in 2023 the PanoInverse in a new limited edition with a Laser engraved dial with the silhouette of the metropolis.
Thus, the new Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse features a hand-engraved dial with the famous domes of Dresden, better known as “Florence on the Elbe”, one of the baroque city’s landmarks.
The watch wears a platinum case measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.30mm thick that comes with a polished finish, sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, an open case back held by five screws and 50m water resistance.
The rhodium-plated mainplate is the base of the dial and on it, we can find hand engravings of the domes of the Academy of Fine Arts and Frauenkirche, the latter with the famous lantern at the top and birds, clouds and a hot air balloon above the sky. Between 2:30 and 6:30 we find an opening revealing the balance and fine adjustment on the dial side with duplex swan-neck fine adjustment just above a big data window. On the opposite side, there is an off-centre dial with Roman numerals and blue skeletonized Alpha hands with small seconds at the bottom. The dial is also adorned with heat-blue screws and lilac jewels.
At its heart and unlike the two previous PanoInverse editions, manual movements now give way to the In-house automatic Caliber 91-03 movement with 46 jewels, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 45 hours of power reserve. The movement is also engraved with the city of Dresden on the banks of the River Elbe and with a skeletonized rotor in the shape of the Frauenkirche lantern.
The watch comes attached to a blue Alligator leather strap with a platinum folding clasp and is priced at €51,600.
