Introducing The Cyrus x Garagem Aurora Klepcys Solo Tempo Aurora Special Edition
Cyrus Watches in partnership with Garagem Aurora presents the special edition “Klepcys Solo Tempo Aurora” exclusive to Portugal inspired by the Spider Aurora racing car.
Garagem Aurora was founded in Porto in 1946 by Manuel António Alves which from the beginning it was linked to sports racing cars, in 1963 it was acquired by Eduardo Santos, who at the age of thirteen began working there as an apprentice and who remains as owner today.
The new Cyrus “Klepcys Solo Tempo Aurora” watch is inspired by one of the Garage’s most famous works, the customization of a 1972 Porsche Carrera 906, which was given the nickname Aurora Spider.
The watch arrives in a robust cushion-shaped stainless steel case with a DLC coating, matte or glossy, 46mm wide and 14.80mm thick, two crowns, one at 3 o’clock to set the hands and another at 9 o’clock to operate the inner bezel. Sapphire crystal, solid case back secured with 4 screws and engraved with the Aurora logo and the signature of Eduardo Santos on the bottom.
The microbeaded black dial is designed with the tachymeter of the Aurora Spider Porsche Carrera 906, as it plays a fundamental role for the racing driver, measuring speed performance on the track and speed control on the road. It features a track from 1 to 10 with Arabic numerals, with the first eight presented in a bright green lacquered color that matches the inscription “UPM x 1000 RPM” at 3 o’clock, and the last two in red following the hue of the center seconds hand. On the dial we can also find openworked hour and minute hands filled with Super-LumiNova and a flange with a white minute track and red hour markers.
At its heart runs the Caliber CYR1015 automatic movement, which operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watch is attached to a red leather strap with automotive motif and white stitching that comes with a balck DLC steel folding clasp.
As already mentioned, the watches will be available exclusively in Portugal and can be found at Garagem Aurora and in some selected points of sale in the country.
