Introducing The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander Chronograph
Christopher Ward brings a mechanical chronograph back to its core collection with the new C63 Sealander Chronograph, adding a classic timing complication to the recently redesigned Sealander family. Rather than simply adapting the existing three-hand model, the new chronograph introduces a substantially reworked case, a tachymeter bezel and a traditional three-subdial layout while retaining the sporty character of the C63 range.

The launch also marks an important return for Christopher Ward, whose last mechanical chronograph in the core collection dates back to 2020. The new C63 Sealander Chronograph therefore occupies an interesting position in the catalogue: it is a contemporary sports chronograph designed around familiar Sealander elements, but with enough changes to make it a distinct model.
A New Take on the Sealander Case
The stainless-steel case measures 41 mm in diameter and 13.90 mm thick. It retains Christopher Ward’s distinctive Light-catcher case architecture, with its combination of polished and brushed surfaces, but the proportions and details have been adapted to accommodate the chronograph mechanism.

One of the most obvious changes is the bezel. Instead of the smooth bezel found on the three-hand Sealander, the chronograph receives a black ceramic insert carrying a tachymeter scale. Used together with the chronograph function, the scale allows the wearer to calculate average speed over a measured distance.
The screw-down crown remains positioned at 3 o’clock, now flanked by two newly designed chronograph pushers. Their elongated, rectangular profile gives the side of the case a more technical appearance while providing a substantial surface for operating the start, stop and reset functions.
Water resistance is rated at 150 metres, keeping the C63 within the practical sports-watch territory for which the collection is intended.
Five Dial Colours
The C63 Sealander Chronograph is available in five dial colours: black, white, pistachio, sky blue and pink.
Regardless of the colour, the watches share the same basic architecture. Three recessed black sub-dials create a strong contrast with the main dial and establish the traditional tricompax chronograph arrangement. The displays cover running seconds, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter, while the central hands indicate the conventional hours and minutes and a central seconds hand records elapsed time.

The use of black sub-dials across the collection gives the five versions a common visual identity while allowing each colour to change the personality of the watch. The white dial offers the most traditional interpretation, with its pronounced panda-style contrast, while the pistachio, sky blue and pink versions take the design in a more contemporary direction.
The hands and hour markers follow the cleaner design language introduced with the latest Sealander generation, helping the chronograph retain a clear relationship with the rest of the collection despite its additional displays.
Sellita Automatic Chronograph
Inside the C63 Sealander Chronograph is the Sellita SW510-1, an automatic mechanical chronograph movement with a 62-hour power reserve.

The movement is supplied in Elaboré grade and is regulated to an accuracy specification of -5/+12 seconds per day. Through the sapphire exhibition caseback, the movement can be seen together with a Christopher Ward-branded rotor.
The SW510 family is a familiar choice for Swiss mechanical chronographs, combining the traditional appeal of a mechanical timing complication with a movement architecture suitable for a daily-wear sports watch.
Rubber or Steel
Christopher Ward offers the C63 Sealander Chronograph on either a rubber strap or the brand’s Bader bracelet.

The rubber option is available in black, white, blue or orange, allowing owners to change the character of the watch considerably depending on the colour combination selected. The steel Bader bracelet uses Christopher Ward’s iLink system, with removable links designed to make bracelet adjustment and sizing more straightforward.
At 41mm, the C63 is firmly positioned as a modern sports chronograph rather than a compact vintage-inspired timer. The 13.9mm thickness is also worth noting, particularly for anyone accustomed to the slimmer proportions of the three-hand Sealander.
Price and Availability
The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander Chronograph is priced at GBP 1,895 on a rubber strap, while the version fitted with the Bader steel bracelet costs GBP 1,995.
With its ceramic tachymeter bezel, 150-metre water resistance, automatic Sellita SW510-1 movement and five distinctive dial colours, the C63 Sealander Chronograph adds a significantly more complicated option to the current Sealander family without moving away from the collection’s sports-watch identity.
