Introducing the Bell & Ross BR05 Chrono in Steel
Here we go again! Another watch with an integrated bracelet and if this is not the year for the integrated bracelets then I don’t know what it will be.
Bell & Ross has just added to its BR05 collection two new models with the chronograph function something new and that comes to diversify the line designed for urban life.
The BR05 line was launched last year and so far had 5 models, all with an integrated bracelet, or alternatively with a rubber strap, 40mm steel or gold case with brushed and polished surfaces, bezel with four screws, round dial in a square case, with large Arabic numerals at 6-9-12 hours in aviation style and a date window at 3 o’clock (except for the skeletonized model).
To these two new chronograph models, Bell & Ross adds three more models to the line, which in summary are: a skeletonized model in steel with a blue dial, a two-tone model in steel and gold with a black dial and a model in gold with a blue dial, in other words, the line now has twice as many previous models, having ten options available, which reveals that the brand seeks to reach other audiences and this is a smart move, I still remember the criticisms of the launch of BR05 in 2019 were not the most flattering for trying to “stick” between the two most famous watch models with an integrated bracelet, the Royal Oak and the Nautilus, but which eventually faded over time and the watch managed to take a place own.
The two BR05 Chronos, they present some changes compared to the base model, starting with the size of the steel case, which grows 2 mm and becomes 42 mm in diameter, the dial now has only Arabic numerals at 6-12 hours while the previous Arabic numeral at 9 o’clock and the date window gives rise to two registers, one 30 minutes and the other 60 seconds respectively, both presented in a square format with round corners in black with a silver frame, the dial also features a new date window now at 4 ½ o’clock with a round shape and without the previous frame. The crown at three o’clock surrounded by crown guards now has the company of two pushers that are part of the crown guards. What distinguishes these two new models is the colour of the dial, one in sun-brushed black and other in sun-brushed blue, with straps in the same tone as the dials if you choose to purchase with a rubber strap instead of the integrated bracelet. In terms of movement, it features the BR-CAL.301 automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve, the price varies between € 5,400 for the rubber strap option or € 5,900 for the integrated bracelet option.
