Introducing the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Honeygold “Lume”
In 2009, A. Lange & Söhne introduced the Zeitwerk for the first time with great reservations in front of a conservative audience used to traditional mechanical timepieces, the digital watch that featured a double jump hour and minute display through an ingenious internal mechanism supported by three discs and which today presents a collection of about a dozen models.
The new Zeitwerk Honeygold “Lume”, as the name implies, comes with a honeygold case, the gold alloy of the brand, and the “Lume” dial, which consists of a semi-transparent illuminated dial that allows you to view part of your three digital discs and respective lume-filled numerals that are fed by the light they receive through the smoked sapphire crystal. Remember that the “Lume” dials are not a novelty of the brand, which has been using them since 2013, first through the Grand Lange 1 “Lume”, three years later in the Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase “Lume” and more recently in 2018 the Datograph UP /DOWN “Lumen”.
With regard to novelties, there are two main, first, the watch features now a new pusher at 4 o’clock that allows the adjustment of hours independent of minutes, and second, receives a new movement Caliber L043.9 that thanks to its two mainspring barrels double its previous power reserve capacity to an appreciable 72 hours.
In short, the Zeitwerk Honeygold “Lume” comes with a 41.9 mm by 12.6 mm gold case, smoked sapphire glass, crown at 2 o’clock and pusher at 4, open-through case back fixed by 6 screws and engraved with numbering individual. Black dial with the traditional time bridge from black rhodium German silver with jump hour display at 9 o’clock, jump minute display at 3 and small seconds at 6, and last but not least, a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock just below of the brand’s logo. The watch is powered by the L043.9 manual movement which operates at a frequency of 18,000 vph. It’s offered with a brown leather strap with honeygold buckle for a price of $ 145,000.
Like the other three “Lume” editions mentioned above, the Zeitwerk Honeygold “Lume” is a limited edition of 200 units and can be purchased exclusively at the brand’s boutiques.
