Introducing the A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in Titanium

One of the (good) surprises of A. Lange & Söhne in this edition of W&W2022 is the new Odysseus that comes with an ice blue dial, but the main innovation is the material used, titanium, which had never been used as a case material by A. Lange & Söhne.

The titanium used as the material for the case and five-link bracelet, gives the watch greater strength but above all an incredible lightness, to the point of weighing almost half of the stainless steel version that served as the launch in 2019.

The shape of the 40.5mm case has not changed, as has the layout of the dial, which is now displayed in an ice blue hue, with a textured center and a spiral inner ring where the lipstick hour markers are applied, and whose layers are also adopted on the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Lastly, the dial also houses a day window at 9 o’clock and a date window at 3 o’clock, central hands filled with lume and the brand’s inscription at 12 o’clock.

Inside, it continues to be powered by the self-winding movement Caliber L155.1 which offers up to 50 hours of power reserve and which can be seen through the open case back.

The watch is offered as a limited edition of 250 pieces, which will be available exclusively in the brand’s official boutiques for a price of $56,500.

Our Opinion

It’s another one of the good surprises this year revealed at W&W2022, in our opinion, it’s the most attractive of all the Odysseus. With a dial very similar in texture to the stainless steel model but in a different tone. But what really surprises is the titanium material now debuted that will not only make a difference on the wrist but also the delight of “many” collectors whose 250 units Availability may sound a little.
