Introducing The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen”
Alongside the new Datograph Up/Down with blue dial, A. Lange & Shöne also presented the impressive Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen”, marking 25 years of the Datograph.
The new Datograph, in addition to the Flyback Chronograph function with a jumping minute counter, is a true accumulator of complications featuring a perpetual calendar with the phases of the moon and a tourbillon.
The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon debuted for the first time in 2016 in a platinum case with a black dial, three years later a new iteration of the watch appeared, this time in white gold and a salmon dial, which is still part of the collection today, and is now reborn in a Honeygold case the brand’s proprietary rose gold alloy and which comes with a grey “Lumen” dial.
On the outside we once again find the round case measuring 41.50mm wide by 14.60mm high, which comes with a polished and brushed finish, smooth bezel, sapphire crystal, and fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature alongside two horizontal pushers, an extra pusher at 10 o’clock and some recessed calendar correctors. The sapphire case back is held by some screws and is engraved with individual numbering.
The grey dial displays an inner tachymeter bezel that, along with the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock includes the month and leap year and the running seconds at 9 o’clock that also adds the weekday and a day/night indicator, as well as the oversized date window at noon and the moon phase aperture at 6 o’clock are all filled with Super-LumiNova that makes them glow green in the dark.
Inside we find the new In-house manual movement Caliber L952.4 based on the previous L952.2, a 684-part column wheel chronograph that runs 18,000 Vph and offers up to 50 hours of power reserve. The movement comes with bridges made of untreated German silver carefully decorated with Glashütte stripes, gold Chatons and blue screws.
The timepiece comes attached to a brown leather strap with a Honeygold folding clasp limited to 50 pieces and with an estimated price of over €700,000.
