Introducing Seven New Patek Philippe Aquanaut models
And boom! At one time Patek Philippe introduces 7, that’s right, there are seven new models that join the Aquanaut collection, which debuted for the first time in 1997 as a natural successor to the PP Nautilus, with the same octagonal shape but clearly with more sporty lines inviting a younger audience. And maybe we will not stop here, since in an interview given to Hodinkee earlier this month, Thierry Stern, hinted that the famous Nautilus 5711, despite the announced farewell, could not stop here and that “maybe” there was another “bomb” ending the subject with an enigmatic phrase “Believe me, you will remember the maybe.”, well, let’s be aware.
But continuing with the Aquanaut news, two new chronographs appear, but this one in white gold, a debut since the Aquanaut Chronograph introduced in 2018, had only a steel variant with a black dial and bracelet, now two variants appear in the precious material, one in midnight blue (5968G-001) and one in khaki green (5968G-010). On the outside, all the same, 42.2 mm diameter case with a finish that alternates between polished and satin-brushed, smooth bezel, screw-down and signed crown at 3 o’clock, elongated pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, and 120m of water resistance. On the embossed Aquanaut dial, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, white accents, and aperture date window at 3 o’clock. All the same inside, the Caliber CH 28-520 C self-winding flyback chronograph movement, which offers between 45 and 55 hours of power reserve. The watches are offered with the integrated composite strap with the same pattern and color as the respective dials, for the price of € 61,690.
The other five new Aquanaut belong to the Luce collection, which is more aimed at the female audience because they have smaller dimensions, 38.8 mm against the previous 35.6 mm, which means that these new models gain 3 mm of robustness, and that is why more and more the connotations of male versus female are less important as they are used by both genders.
Starting with the three new Aquanaut Luce stainless steel models, which are presented in black (Ref. 5267/200A-001), matte white (Ref. 5267/200A-010) or khaki green (Ref. 5267/200A-011), bezel with a diamond set, screw-down and signed crown at 3 o’clock and 120m water resistance. Embossed Aquanaut pattern dial with white accents (and black on the white variant) and an aperture date window at 3 o’clock. All models come with a Caliber E 23-250 S C quartz movement and are offered with the integrated composite strap with the same pattern and color as the respective dials, for the price of € 17,930.
Moving immediately to the Aquanaut Luce Travel Time (Ref. 5269/200R-001), it is presented in a rose-gold case and white dial, diamonds set bezel, signed crown (not screw-down) at 3 o’clock, and 60 meters of water resistance. The dial features the traditional embossed Aquanaut pattern, gold accents, and a day/night indicator of the home time zone at 6 o’clock. The watch is equipped with the new quartz movement E 23-250 S FUS 24H and is also offered with an integrated composite strap with the same pattern and white color as the dial, for the price of € 35,850.
Finally, we have the automatic Aquanaut Luce (Ref. 5268/200R-001), which is presented in exactly the same configuration as the Aquanaut Luce Travel, bezel in rose gold with a diamonds set bezel and the same white dial, however, in relation to this model, it does not have the functions of a second-time zone and day/night indicator, but rather a gold frame date window at 3 o’clock and a superior water-resistance of 120m. Inside everything is different, since it comes equipped with the automatic movement Caliber 26-330 S C that offers between 35 and 45 hours of power reserve. The watch is offered with an integrated composite strap with the same pattern and white color as the dial, for the price of € 44,500.
