Introducing Nectere’s “Order From Chaos” – A Sculptural Take On Mechanical Time
Hong Kong-based independent brand Nectere has officially launched its debut timepiece series — the Order From Chaos collection — now live on Kickstarter since April 18, 2025. This design-forward mechanical watch line draws inspiration from chaos theory and the “butterfly effect,” expressed through asymmetrical casework and layered dial textures. Each of the three references is limited to 175 pieces worldwide.

The watch features a compact but sculptural 38 mm wide by 40.50 mm lug-to-lug case with a thickness of just 8.50 mm. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case blends brushed and mirror-polished finishes, with a distinctive four-step, tapering profile. Flowing, non-linear curves and ripple-like detailing along the bezel visually represent the unpredictability of chaotic systems. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, and the ergonomic curvature helps the watch sit comfortably on the wrist.

The dial design mirrors the complexity of the case, incorporating three contrasting finishes: a sunray center where the mirror-polished hour and minute hands rotate, an off-center small seconds subdial decorated with concentric circles, and a radial striped chapter ring segmented into twelve zones serving as hour markers. All dials are protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

The collection includes three color variants. The Mist features a silver dial with a contrasting black small seconds subdial, creating a striking visual contrast. The Dune offers a champagne-colored dial with a tone-matching small seconds display, while The Forest presents a green dial, also paired with a small seconds subdial in the same hue for a cohesive look.

Powering the watch is the Seagull ST-17, a manual-wind mechanical movement operating at 21,600 bph, offering a 39-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through an exhibition caseback, and the 4 o’clock crown placement maintains the off-center theme while balancing the silhouette.
Each watch is paired with an 18 mm tapered leather strap fitted with a traditional pin buckle and a quick-release spring bar system for easy strap changes. The Mist comes with a green strap, The Forest is fitted with black leather, and The Dune is matched with a taupe (elephant gray) strap.

Nectere, derived from the Latin word meaning “to connect,” was founded by James Wong and Tony Yip. The duo brings together backgrounds in creative direction and watch industry experience to create a product that merges thoughtful design, mechanical watchmaking, and narrative symbolism.
The Order From Chaos watches are priced at USD 475 during the active Kickstarter campaign, rising to USD 720 afterward. The campaign will run for 35 days, giving backers until late May 2025 to secure one of these limited editions.
